How to convert PNG to JPG

PNG and JPG are the two most common image formats, but they work differently. PNG keeps every detail and supports transparent backgrounds. JPG compresses photos down to a much smaller file by removing detail the eye barely notices. Converting PNG to JPG makes sense when you need a smaller file, when a website or form only accepts JPG, or when you are sharing a photo that does not need a transparent background.

Convert PNG to JPG in your browser

  1. Open the Snapfold Image converter.
  2. Set Convert from to PNG and Convert to to JPG.
  3. Drop your PNG files in, press Convert images and then the yellow Save button.

Your files are not uploaded anywhere. Everything runs on your device.

When to keep PNG instead

Keep PNG when the image has a transparent background (logos, icons, stickers), when it contains sharp text or a screenshot you want to stay crisp, or when you need the original quality for further editing. JPG cannot store transparency, so any see-through areas will become white.

Will the image look different?

For photos the difference is usually invisible at normal viewing sizes. For screenshots with thin text or sharp lines, JPG can add a slight blur or blockiness around edges. If that matters, use the High quality setting in the converter.

Can I convert multiple PNG files at once?

Yes. Drop several PNG files at once into the converter. The free plan handles up to 10 files per batch. Pro removes that limit.
